Background & Education

Born into a lineage of artists in Mexico City, Guzmán learned foundational drawing skills from her father before teaching herself watercolour through relentless practice and studying museum archives. While she built early technical confidence painting commissioned horse and pet portraits to survive, her artistic trajectory expanded significantly when she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). This academic foundation transformed her approach, grounding her artwork in deep humanist inquiry and socio-political themes.
